Teaching

Mr. Tavani comes from a long line of master teachers and is happy to share what he has learned with an upcoming generation of violinists. Studies with Robert Lipsett, Arnold Steinhardt, Aaron Rosand, Ida Kavafian, William Preucil, and Ronda Cole, among many others, have exposed Tavani to effective teaching methods and traditions from some of the top teachers and artists of our time. Tavani’s education and his extensive work with master performers in chamber and orchestral music uniquely equip him to prepare young violinists for excellence in their musical endeavors.

Mr. Tavani has taught at a variety of levels and focuses his teaching on intermediate to advanced students at least 15 years of age. In some cases, younger students are accepted.

Students in Mr. Tavani’s studio typically study standard classical repertoire, orchestral excerpts, and technical studies. Each student will receive unique instruction tailored to the student’s individual needs and focus. Mr. Tavani is happy to work with students on non-classical music according to their interests.

In addition to diverse private teaching experience, Mr. Tavani has taught masterclasses at institutions such as the Cleveland Institute of Music Young Artist Program, MasterWorks Festival, Alicante Conservatory in Spain, and Bremen Conservatory in Germany.
